Auxillary Emission Control Error Codes

Codes related to the auxiliary emissions system. It consists of the EGR (exhaust gas recirculation), catalytic converter, and EVAP (Evaporative Emissions). These systems help minimize the damage your vehicle does to the environment. 

-The EGR system does this by recirculating the exhaust fumes into the intake which, surprisingly, cools down the combustion chamber and causes less nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions.

-The catalytic converter is, in a sense, a filter that cleans up the harmful exhaust gases produced by the engine by turning them into less harmful gases. It does this through the use of platinum, palladium, and rhodium. It changes nitrogen oxide into nitrogen and oxygen, carbon monoxide into carbon dioxide, and unburnt hydrocarbons into carbon dioxide and water.

-The EVAP system catches the fuel vapors from your fuel tank and allows your engine to burn them. Below is the list of error codes related to auxiliary emission control
